Limi Yamamoto, Like Father, Like Daughter

Everyone knows Yohji Yamamoto, but not the fact that he’s got a daughter who wanted to play bass guitar in a rock band then ends up in Paris with her own label, Limi Feu.
Limi Yamamoto presented reflection of new Japanese aesthetics as in Japanese women, with more common body types, none like usual model parade, in Paris Fashion Week of Fall 2008/Winter2009. She played with asymmetry, androgyny and Edwardian fashion, reminding us of his father’s signature style, but fresher. Monochrome palette, black tailored pieces come with bubble or ruffled skirts and princess coats, Harajuku DIY street styling and pieces that could be inspired from anime and manga. Or it can be the other way round, inspiring the mangakas.
