Coffee and Woman’s Health
Today is a funny day. As a caffeinated woman, I was surprised finding an article about the negative impact of caffeine on women’s health”. Seems interesting, I then fallen into the reading and found some scary thing–if I couldn’t say them as facts :)
It was written that woman in childbearing age is not recommended to drink coffee. Reduced consumption of caffeine will help relieve some of premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
OK, maybe I should lowering my coffee consumption before my period.
Then, elimination of caffeine is recommended for it seems to have an adverse affect on women’s fertility. It was also mentioned that pregnant women who take in caffeine tend to give birth to considerably smaller babies who, after birth, display signs of caffeine withdrawal because the caffeine had permeated the placental barrier.
That serious? Hmm..
Caffeine is also known to cause heart palpitations in pregnant women.
In another part, caffeine blocks the absorption of the minerals (calcium, magnesium, potassium, vitamin D) which are needed to prevent or reverse this condition; therefore bone density decreases as osteoporosis worsens.
Till this part, I stopped reading the article and closed the tab :)
