If you run a business, then one thing you will need to worry about is the security of your facility. While high-tech security systems with cameras and sensors can go a long way to protect your business, simply locking your exterior doors also does a lot to repel intruders. However, there are certain situations in which you will need to get your locks changed in order to maintain your security, and we will go through a few of them below.
- When Moving In – One situation in which you should get your locks changed is when moving into a new building. If you leave the current locks in place, anyone with a copy of the key will be able to get inside, and you may not be aware of every copy in existence. To be safe, we encourage you to replace the locks with new ones to make sure you can account for every key.
- After a Break-In – You should also get your locks changed following a break-in. If someone was able to get inside without your permission, then your current locks clearly didn’t do their job, and it’s wise to replace them with more secure options.
- After Firing Someone – A third situation in which it may be necessary to replace your business’ locks is after dismissing an employee. If you have reason to believe your former employee may try to retaliate against your company, we encourage you to take steps to increase your facility’s security, such as replacing your current locks.
